What are Boiler Blowdown Packages?
Boiler blowdown packages are used with the conductivity controller to controllers the boiler water chemistry and blowdown set point.

This page takes the guess work out of designing your blowdown package. These units come preassembled and are ready to install.

What types of electric blowdown valves are there for my boiler?
You have 6 types to choose from. The photos are shown above. Each are rating to a different pressure and for different boilers. For more information, please download the product bulletin before ordering.

• 00 - SG2 is 1/2" Brass Solenoid Valve - Rated to 2 to 50 psi. Max temperature 350F.
• 10 - SGB is 1/2" Brass Solenoid Valve rated from 5 to 140 psi
• 30 - MBWB is a 1/2" Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve that opens 360 degrees and is rate to 450 psi
• 40 - MBWB is a 1/2" Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valve that opens 90 degrees and is rate to 450 psi
• 50 - SMB is 1/2" Brass Solenoid Valve rated from 0 to 140 psi
• 60 - SOB is 1/2" Brass Solenoid Valve rated from 0 to 140 psi. Max temperature 356F.
• MBWC - is rated 1000 psi and 650F with an extra duty 90 degree actuator.

What flow restriction is required with my blowdown valve?
You must install a flow restriction device when using a blowdown valve. A flow restriction device is required to prevent the steam from flashing across the conductivity sensor. If the steam flashes across the conductivity probe it may send false readings to the conductivity meter. This will cause the valve to continuously open and close. There are three different boiler flow restrictions:

• 00 - AOU-1 Orifice Union with plates rated to 1000 psi
• 10 - FCS - 1/2" Stainless Steel Flow Control rate to 200 psi
• 20 - FC - 1/2" Stainless Steel Flow Control Valve rated to 800 psi

What other options do I have with my blowdown valve package?
Other options include:

• A - Add second flow restricting device for continuous samples
• F - Add a 3/4" flush ball valve on the bottom of the probe cross
• Y - Add a 1/2" Y strainer with a flush valve before the blowdown valve
• P - Mount Valve Package and separately ordered controller onto poly board and prewire

You may order this unit with 3/4" or 1" diameter NPT connections.
